The AC Power Distribution board is a central wiring hub for the vessel AC electrical system and incorporates active Shore Power Reverse Polarity Protection.
When used in conjunction with the specified shore power input facility, companion AC electrical panel and vessel earth plate, the board provides the required shore power reverse polarity protection and allows the easy connection of all vessel AC loads. No other circuits are required.
The reverse polarity protection allows the shore power to be electrically connected to the vessels installation only if the polarity of the incoming shore power connection is correct. According to Australian standard AS3004.2:2008, the use of single pole switch gear (for example circuit breakers, power points and switches) on the vessels installation is only allowed in conjunction with reverse polarity protection. Alternatively, double pole switchgear is required at every point of the installation.
The board provides direct termination for:
- one shore power input (20 amp maximum)
- an optional Inverter or Inverter Charger with shore power bypass support
- the feed and load circuits of the vessel AC electrical panel
- up to five load sub-circuits with expansion capability to 8
All user terminals are labelled and accomodate up to 4 sq mm cross section cable. Cable entries support the use of 2 x 32mm and 1 x 40mm corrugated conduit. The board is manufactured from fire rated switch board laminate and includes a protective cover, It is supplied fully tested with a schematic diagram.
Australian law requires that the vessel AC installation is installed and tested by a licensed electrical contractor. We do not support unlicensed installations.
