Sealed & Vented True Sinewave Inverter/Charger

OutBack Power’s true sinewave inverter/charger is a complete power solution. It incorporates a DC to AC sinewave inverter, battery charger and an AC transfer switch housed within a die-cast aluminum chassis.

 

Intelligent multistage battery charging runs your generator less, and prolongs the life of your batteries. Built-in networked communications enables multiple units to be stacked and connected with other OutBack power electronics providing industry leading integration and near infinite application flexibility. The exclusive modular system architecture means that increased power output is just an additional inverter/charger away.

The flagship FXR series uses a sealed chassis that can operate in the harshest environmental conditions such as areas with high humidity, corrosive salt air, sand or dust. The VFXR series uses a vented chassis with “bug proof” screened openings that allow high output AC power in the hottest of operating conditions.

Land Based Applications

The standard “Land Base” FXR & VFXR versions have an automatic transfer relay that switches the Active circuit from mains source to inverter source. The Neutral circuit remains connected to the input side which means that the inverter will inherit the MEN connection from the input source. When isolated from the input source (as would be the case if a shore power cord was removed) the MEN connection will be lost. When using this model in mobile applications, always ensure that an alternative means of maintaining an MEN connection is employed if required.

IEC 62109-2 Compliance and CEC accreditation

Compliance with the requirement of remote fault indication and identification of firmware version is achieved with installation of a MATE3 or AXS Port as part of the system. FXR and VFXR inverter chargers are currently listed as suitable for installation under the Renewable Energy Certificate scheme. You can check this at any time at the solar accreditation website.

System Expansion and Networking

FXR and VFXR can be used in parallel and three-phase systems as well as in combination with solar regulators. A HUB is required to bridge the communications and a MATE3 is required for setup.
