Electronic engine controls replace the standard helm unit and mechanical cables running from the helm to the engine room. The control system is just like a "fly by wire" network found on modern aircraft.

The helm "morse" control unit lectronically measures the position of the handles and transmits this signal to an actuator mounted near the engine. The actuator replicates the position of the helm unit and positions a short set of cables that connect to the engine and gearbox.

Electronic controls are smooth to operate and add additional interlock and engine RPM synchronisation features for multiple engine installations.

• For electronically governed engines - EEC3™ product provides complete control of electronic throttle and shift engines.
• For mechanically governed engines - the Smart Actuator™ or Smart Actuator II™ system provides complete control of mechanical throttle and shift engines or electronic throttle WITH mechanical transmissions. 
• For multiple engine applications - the Smart Actuator™ or Smart Actuator II™ system provides complete control of one, two, or three engines - inboard and outboards! 

The Glendinning electronic control system utilizes the industry standard NMEA2000 and CAN bus technology, This reduces loom sizes by only having to run one cable for control and communication between units. This also saves time and makes installation a breeze.
